Episode 22 ‘That Crazy Bitch was Right’ of season 1 of Mercy starts with Veronica looking for an apartment. Seeing her hesitant about moving in alone, Mike taunts her for still living along with her parents.
Later on, she turns down for taking that apartment giving a reason that she would prefer staying rent free and taking care of her parents.
After much of cross inspection, Veronica calls up the estate agent and asks him to rent the apartment. At the same time, she hears a boy from the nearby building calling for help to rescue his friend who has got hurt. When she runs inside, she finds out that the building is about to collapse and that the boy named Patrick has fell down from the floor above and broken his knee. Soon, the building begins to creak and they make an unsuccessful attempt to vacate the building. Jonah leaves for clearing his dirty magazines while Veronica and Patrick get hit with a collision.
Jonah comes back only to find out that Patrick’s arm is stuck under the pile of stones. They try to search for Veronica’s purse but all in vain.
While Andy is still in coma at the hospital Joe manages to convince Doctor Carlson to perform the risky treatment for diffused cerebral adema.
On the other hand, Joe is struggling to arrange money demanded by the mobsters. He gets on the phone with Norm to settle the amount. While Veronica is trying to rescue Patrick, she orders them to calm down. On receiving a call from Mike, she manages to tell him the place where she is.
Sonia comes across a woman named Evelyn at the hospital who admitted herself for the risk of getting a heart attack. Since Evelyn is a physic woman, she was hopeful of getting one.
Chris rejects the offer from Ramsey to work at a hospital in Afghanistan. She also comes to know about the situation Veronica is in where she is trapped in a building along with Patrick and Jonah.
